We returned to the Big Apple to see what some of our favourite brands have in store for FW19! Notable appointments included Gitman Vintage Bros, Engineered Garments, Norse Projects, Carhartt WIP, Arpenteur, Battenwear, PAA, Garbstore, and Adsum, to name a few. The rest we’ll be keeping under wraps for now ;) Many of the meetings took place at the renowned MAN show which continues to do a great job of bringing brands together in an open and friendly space for them to showcase their goods. Plus, they give out great tote bags as souvenirs! It was an amazing trip filled with some truly impressive collections with stand outs definitely being EG (obviously), Garbstore, Gitman Vintage, Arpenteur, and Carhartt WIP. This is not to say that there weren’t some truly stellar collections from other brands including some bright and wonderful colours from Adsum, fleecey magic from Battenwear, beautifully simplistic basics from Lady White Co., outstanding outerwear from Norse Projects, and some exceptional new silhouettes from PAA. There’s a lot to be excited about!

However, one must find food and sustenance amidst all the busy running around and we definitely didn’t find ourselves short on good eats. A big shout out goes to Dez, a fun little restaurant dedicated to putting a twist on traditional mediterranean dishes like shawarma and falafel. If it wasn’t Dez for lunch most days, it was our usual solid morning breakfast at the Butcher’s Daughter serving as a treat for our taste buds. This is a staple with every visit and is consistently a great experience both in flavour and customer service. We have to give a special shout out to Cafe Integral as well for providing a much needed coffee fix morning to morning before we begun each day.

Another much needed mention out of this trip is our amazing hotel accommodator, Sohotel. Located at the corner of Broome and Bowery, Sohotel is said to be NYCs oldest operating hotel. From the coziness of the rooms to the unbeatable customer service, Sohotel is a top vote for NYC hotels and continues to be our go-to. Not to mention, it’s absolutely beautiful, featuring a quirky lobby-library stocked full of amazing photo books on American culture and history. If you don’t end up staying there, make sure to at least take a peak inside for zebra print furniture and say hello to one of their friendly bellhops.

It was quite the trip and not bad for January and we can’t wait to do it again in July. Stay tuned until next time!
