Would You Like a Size in That?: Viberg

We get a lot of questions about sizing on our Vibergs, so we feel like we should address things once and for all. Below is a list of the lasts we carry (Viberg has more available on their site), sorted from narrowest to widest

Slides

Viberg Slides are technically not on a designated last as they are fully deconstructed. They are more fitted through the toe, and run true to size. Any suede models especially will stretch with wear, so it’s okay to start with them a little snug.

Sizing:

S: 6-7 US

M: 8-9 US

L: 10-11 US

XL:  12-13 US

6748 Last

Viberg calls this an E width, although it doesn’t quite feel like it. The 6748 features an almond toe, which creates a sleek look and lengthens the foot visually. This is the most fitted of Viberg lasts that we carry, with a tapered heel, narrow waist, and roomier forefoot. We’d call this an ‘anatomical’ last, creating a ‘glove-like’ fit.

2030 Last

One of our favourites from Viberg. The 2030 features an almond-shaped, elongated toe for a sleek, dressier look. It’s an E width, with a more accommodating, wide shape from the heel to the ball of the foot.

1035 Last

If the 2030 is more sleek, the 1035 feels a little more rugged. It’s a last commonly used on ‘country-style’ footwear like the Scout or Service boot. The 1035 last is an E width, and it features a generous fit from the ball of the fit through the toe. It’s got a more ‘snubbed’ appearance than the 2030, and more volume through the toe.

110 Last

Another rounded-toe last in an E width, similar to the 1035. It’s based on a Japanese last, with a slightly more bulbous forefoot that gives lots of room through the toe.

310 Last

Another E width! The 310 last is again used in ‘country-style’ footwear that requires extra toe room while working. It differs from other rounded-toe lasts (like the 1035) as it has a sprung toe. The toe box on the 310 is raised slightly off the ground, and it’s been developed this way to give more spring– it allows the foot to roll forward into each step, propelling it to reduce fatigue. The 310 has a very generous fit from the ball of the foot straight through to the toe, so it’ll work well for anyone with an especially wide foot. Or anyone who prefers the snubbed look.

240 Last

This is a last that you’ll usually see on a Hiker. It’s an E width, with a round camel toe. It’s roomy throughout, with lots of width and volume to accommodate heavy socks.

9220 Last

Another Hiker last for us. Again, an E width with a round, snubbed toe. The 9220 is the most generous last we carry, with lots of volume throughout (slightly more than the 240).
