Nanga
Though they produced their first jacket in 2002, Nanga was established in 1941. Founder Akira Yokota owned a factory in Maibara city then, where he was contracted to produce outdoor wear for local companies. By 1990 Yokota was exclusively producing sleeping bags, as many local manufacturers outsourced their production to factories overseas. In short order Yokota began producing his own sleeping bags, with special attention paid to the quality of Spanish duck down used. As more companies outsourced, Nanga doubled down on domestic production, procuring only the finest materials and duck down. Today, Nanga is still family owned, and they maintain their commitment to innovation in material and product.
