DESCRIPTION

Based on the rail-worker and coverall jackets Jackson Pollock wore in his studio. He worked with his canvas tacked to the floor and moved around and across it, so photos of him painting show this jacket a lot. The jacket itself is a classic chore-coat shape, finished with tailoring-level detail. Four buttons down the front on custom donut-style buttons, two large lower pockets, and two chest pockets, one with a button flap and one split to hold a pen. That's right...who doesn't want a pocket for a pen. The fabric is a wool rover twill. Think dense, lofty, shuttle-loom cloth based on vintage CPO shirting. “Nailhead” means the twill is woven with contrasting yarns in a tiny dot pattern, like rows of nail heads. From a distance it reads as plain grey, and up close it has texture. This is one of those special fabrics that you do not want to sleep on.
