DESCRIPTION

Its name comes from the Fear Naught wool used in its construction, originally developed in the early 18th century at thriving mills in northern England for sailors who needed serious protection from the elements.

Between 1941 and 1943, the British War Office put it into service across the UK military. It wasn’t just worn by British troops either, Polish forces and other Allied units wore it too, along with volunteers in Civil Defence roles like air-raid wardens, fire watchers, rescue crews, and medics.
