DESCRIPTION

Meet the “Liberty Cuffs” CPO shirt, basically a classic shirt with embroidered patches sewn inside the sleeves. In the Navy, where rules were king, these cuffs became a sneaky way for sailors to show a bit of personality. They’d roll up their sleeves on shore leave and let the patches peek out. Starting in the early 1900s, especially among the Asia Fleet, it caught on, and by wartime it had become a full-blown naval tradition.
