This is a very cool jacket rich in history. The original B15 featured a tonal fur collar but was omitted on future iterations because of a USAF directive in 1954 that made helmets bigger (to accommodate a new cockpit) and ultimately unable to accommodate the fur!
The process of removing the fur collar led to many examples with mismatched threads around the collar, leading to the contrast white stitching on the TYPE B-15C MODIFIED true to this original detail.
This is a wonderful; jacket with an even better origin story.
